Offering healthcare services at Söğütözü/Ankara, TOBB ETU Hospital is awarded the “Best design” prize by American Institute of Architects and “Modern Healthcare Journal” in U.S. Founded on total closed area of 25 thousand square meters, the hospital offers many advantages to patients including but not limited to the building, functionality, compatibility with international standards and spacious and comfortable living spaces.
Highest quality standards were targeted in terms of both healthcare services offered and the architecture of the hospital while TOBB ETU Hospital was constructed and in the light of those targets, studies were started on ISO 9001-2000 Quality System Certificate and the Quality Certificate was awarded on June 2005 within 6 months after the hospital was put into service; on the other side, the hospital was also granted international accreditation (JCI) certificate again within a short time (only one year).
TOBB ETU Hospital was planned in concordance with International Accreditation (JCI) standards which prioritize the hospital and patient satisfaction and lead healthcare personnel for offering quality and better services and thus, within scope of the JCI, all managerial requirements about critical issues (i.e., patient’s safety, infection control, patient rights and training for patient and family) are fulfilled.
TOBB ETU Hospital offers healthcare services by total of 670 employees including 86 physicians (largely comprised of full-time physicians), 126 nurses and medical, administrative, technical and other personnel. Offering 24-hour qualified healthcare services in all branches, the hospital offers freelance physicians, in addition to permanent physicians, the equipment of the hospital who wants to operate their patients at our hospital.
TOBB ETU Hospital is equipped with an important technological infrastructure, namely PACS (Picture Archival Communication System), which safely and rapidly records and stores all medical files including imaging studies. Laboratory samples are safely and rapidly transported throughout the hospital thanks to the PTSS (Pneumatic Tube Transfer System). The hospital took all measures, including all issues related with both architectural structure and technological and managerial issues, required for preventing and controlling infections.
The hospital offers “individual” healthcare services to hospitals based on 111 patient beds and 8 operation rooms. Patients are offered healthcare services in specially designed Oral and Dental Health, Gynecology and Obstetrics, Gastroenterology, Pediatric Surgery, Pediatrics and Ophthalmology units as well as Anesthesia and Reanimation, Nutrition and Dietetics, Biochemistry, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Infectious Diseases, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, General Surgery, Pulmonology, Thoracic Surgery, Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Surgery, Cardiology, Otorhinolaryngology, Microbiology, Neurology, Neurosurgery, Orthopedics and Traumatology, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Urology branches. The hospital has a Pathology Laboratory in addition to Radiology, Biochemistry and Microbiology laboratories. Well developed Pathology Laboratory of the hospital offers a rapid and safe system which ensures that tissues intraoperatively sampled from patients are examined and results are informed to the surgeon.
Moreover, 24-hour healthcare service is offered by Emergency Medicine physicians, experienced emergency medicine nurses and ambulance team in the Emergency Medicine Unit.
